Canada Express Entry Process In 2024
July 12, 2024Canada PR Points: Canada Point System
July 12, 2024Invitation to Apply
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
(IRCC) reserves the right to conduct Express Entry rounds of invitations to
select the highest-ranking candidates from the pool and invite them to apply
for an Invitation to Apply (ITA). These invitations are based on the
Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores when IRCC draws a significant number
of applicants from the Express Entry pool.
Please note that an ITA should not be confused
with a Canadian job offer or a Provincial Nomination Certificate. An ITA is an
auto-generated letter issued to eligible Express Entry candidates—those at or
above the cut-off point announced after the draw—who have expressed their
interest in immigrating to Canada. Once you’re invited to apply for permanent
residence in Canada, you'll receive a notification detailing the next steps.
How to
Obtain an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canada
Candidates who qualify with a minimum of 67
points under the selection criteria of the federal economic immigration program
may enter the Express Entry pool. The CRS components are as follows:
- Core Human Capital Factors
- Accompanying Spouse or Common-Law Partner
Factors,
if applicable
- Skill Transferability Factors
- Other Factors relating to a
Provincial Nomination, a job offer, prior study in Canada, blood relations in
Canada, or proof of French language ability
Once you are in the Express Entry pool with a
sufficient CRS score, the Canadian Federal Government issues ITAs to those
meeting the required minimum CRS cut-off score released at the time of the
draw.
Tips to
Improve Your Chances of Receiving an ITA
To enhance your chances of receiving an ITA,
consider the following steps:
- Improve your language skills and achieve a
higher score on your English Language test.
- Update your education credentials.
- Gain more relevant work experience.
- Seek connections in any provinces and
territories for the Provincial Nominee Program.
- Contact employers hiring immigrants to Canada
to secure a valid job offer under NOC O, A, and B.
- Claim points for blood relations in Canada.
Important Details About the ITA
According to recent updates, every candidate
who receives an ITA will have 90 days to apply, rather than the previous 60
days allotted by the IRCC. If you miss the 90-day deadline, the ITA issued to
you will no longer be valid, and you will need to create a new Express Entry
profile. However, if you choose to decline your ITA, you will be placed back
into the Express Entry pool to be considered for future rounds of invitations,
as long as your profile remains valid under the federal economic immigration
program.
